The Nest

A HOME WHERE LOVE AND LIFE FLOURISH.

Created for a close-knit family of five, The Nest is a home shaped as much by affection and memory as by architecture. Set within a gated community in Thaltej, Ahmedabad, the three-storeyed residence embraces an eclectic design language, allowing art, colour, objects, and personal histories to become part of its fabric. Warm, playful, and deeply individual, the home is ultimately a portrait of the family that inhabits it.

CONCEPT & EXECUTION

Working within a sculptural shell by Hiren Patel Architects, the interiors build upon an abundance of daylight, intimate pauses, and generous volumes. Rather than subscribe to a singular style, the design layers polished Kota, concrete-washed ceilings, timber, colour, bespoke lighting, and collected art to create spaces that feel evolved rather than composed.

SPACES THAT SPELL TOGETHERNESS

The living, dining, and dry kitchen form the spirited heart of the home, designed equally for animated cooking sessions and intimate meals. Olive, blush, grey, and timber tones lend warmth to this communal core.

SENTIMENT WITHIN THE STRUCTURE

Personal memories become enduring design gestures. Koi illustrations created by the couple’s daughter years ago are transformed into a vivid, pixelated mosaic across the pool floor, visible from multiple vantage points.

WARMTH, COMFORT AND STILLNESS

Poised between the pool and raised garden, the day room becomes a cocoon for work, study, or repose. Elsewhere, the daughters’ room layers pastels, birchwood, art, and a mezzanine loft into a whimsical world of its own.

LOUNGING KING SIZE

The lounge takes on a moodier character through leather-finished Kadapa, mint cabinetry, timber, art, and lighting, all composed around the bar as its defining anchor.

BLUE SKIES AND BRIGHT STARS

Skylights and clerestory windows wash the master suite in changing daylight. Pine, Kota, white walls, and a connected sunroom create a quieter finale to a home otherwise alive with colour, personality, and togetherness.

I told MuseLAB that I wanted to feel like I am on vacation every single day - and they truly delivered.
