Amor Fati

A haven of stillness that unites Spanish influences and Deccan roots.

Named after the Latin expression for ‘love of one’s fate’, Amor Fati is a spirited Mumbai apartment designed for actor Priyansh Jora. Marking a new chapter in the city, the home becomes an extension of its inhabitant’s creative disposition, bringing together Parisian influences, theatrical flourishes, and an unabashed appetite for experimentation. Colour, pattern, and unexpected details lend the residence a personality that is equal parts romantic and playful.

CONCEPT & EXECUTION

Classical Parisian references provide the starting point, only to be disrupted by contemporary interventions and moments of whimsy. Cool grey wainscoting establishes a datum across the apartment, while patterned ceilings, harlequin floors, pastel hues, and graphic surfaces travel between rooms. Rather than adhering faithfully to a period aesthetic, the design plays with its familiar codes to create something distinctly personal.

BOMBAY TO PARIS

Parisian chic finds an unlikely home in Bombay through layered textures, colours, and patterns. Classical cues coexist with eccentric details, allowing the apartment to oscillate between nostalgia and contemporary expression.

LEITMOTIFS UNLOCKED

Recurring elements dissolve rigid boundaries between rooms. Wainscoting wraps the perimeter, while patterned surfaces and shifting colours establish individual identities without interrupting the visual continuity of the home.

IN FINE COMPANY

The bespoke bar captures Amor Fati’s playful spirit. Its restrained grey exterior opens to reveal a blush interior, while slender legs culminate in an army of MuseTRIBE Channapatna figurines seemingly scaling its façade.

DREAMING OF DRAMA!

Whimsy continues into the bedrooms. Priyansh’s room wraps graphic monochrome wallpaper from wall to ceiling above a relaxed platform bed. His parents’ bedroom takes a more colourful turn, pairing an asymmetric headboard with a multihued cornice that playfully reinterprets classical detailing.

I told MuseLAB that I wanted to feel like I am on vacation every single day - and they truly delivered.
