Chroma

Innovating spaces, honouring legacy.

Reimagined for an educational institution with a legacy spanning over two decades, Chroma brings a renewed spatial identity to the everyday experience of learning. The transformation retains the school’s core principles while introducing a contemporary design language shaped by colour, geometry, and interaction. Shared and private spaces flow intuitively into one another, creating an environment that encourages students to gather, collaborate, reflect, and explore.

CONCEPT & EXECUTION

The design begins with a restrained canvas, animated through deliberate cameos of colour and playful geometric forms. Existing structural elements are brought into the narrative, while varied heights and spatial nodes create new opportunities for interaction and activity. Colour appears through surfaces, wallpapers, structural elements, and furniture, becoming a visual thread that connects the campus without overwhelming it. Minimal and ergonomic furniture respond to the needs of young users while remaining adaptable across related spaces.

TRANSFORMATION ON THE HORIZON

The intervention looks beyond a visual facelift to reconsider how students and staff experience the school. Familiar spaces are reworked to feel contemporary while remaining rooted in the institution’s established identity.

SEAMLESS CONNECTIONS AND NODES

Shared, private, collaborative, and reflective zones are woven together as a fluid spatial whole. Changes in scale and height further define these nodes, allowing different activities to coexist across the campus.

CAMEOS OF COLOUR

Against a muted backdrop, saturated hues appear strategically across surfaces and architectural details, lending warmth, energy, and identity to individual spaces.

THE SPACES COMPOSITION

Durable, adaptable furniture and expressive structural elements balance functionality with character, creating spaces capable of evolving with their young inhabitants.

SEQUESTERED IN SERENITY

Colour and morphing geometries come together to create a sensorial environment that encourages students to engage with, interpret, and inhabit  their surroundings in new ways.

I told MuseLAB that I wanted to feel like I am on vacation every single day - and they truly delivered.
