Deco Ground
A haven of stillness that unites Spanish influences and Deccan roots.
Deco Ground takes the familiar codes of Art Deco and loosens them up with colour, pattern, and a generous dose of whimsy. Designed for a family in Bombay, the apartment brings together bold hues, eclectic geometries, and bespoke details to create a home that feels spirited rather than stylistically bound. Vintage influences are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, resulting in spaces that are expressive, playful, and rooted in everyday living.
CONCEPT & EXECUTION
Colour and geometry form the backbone of the design narrative. Linear and arched silhouettes coexist across millwork and architectural details, while patterned surfaces introduce rhythm throughout the apartment. Rather than recreating Art Deco literally, the design borrows its confidence in colour, form, and ornamentation, allowing these elements to assume a more relaxed and unexpected identity.

S’TEAL’ING THE SHOW!
A warm teal floor sweeps through the home, recalling the character of vintage oxide flooring and establishing a strong visual datum. Abstract patterned tiles interrupt this expanse at strategic moments, using shifts underfoot to subtly distinguish spaces while maintaining continuity.

THE OMNIPRESENCE OF COLOUR
Colour assumes different personalities from room to room. A sunny yellow sofa, tessellated teal and grey tiles, and salmon-toned kitchen floors allow individual spaces to hold their own while remaining part of the larger composition. In deliberate contrast, the bedrooms retreat into a quieter monochromatic language, offering a sense of calm against the exuberance of the communal spaces.
I told MuseLAB that I wanted to feel like I am on vacation every single day - and they truly delivered.
